Elizabeth A. McQueen, B.F.A, B.Ed, R.M Reiki and Meditation
Elizabeth McQueen has been an artist, teacher and yoga practitioner for over 35 years. Steeped in the traditions of Hatha (postures and breath), Kripalu (compassion), The Five Tibetans and Kundalini yogas, her dedication to personal practice has greatly informed her teaching of meditation. It was not however, until she encountered a health crisis of her own that she truly integrated the essential benefits of meditation in the journey to wellness. Elizabeth is a certified meditation instructor (Canadian Yoga Alliance: Samagra Path) and as a Reiki Master, she provides a unique adjunct to the wellness team at Hamilton Osteopathic. She is convinced that "Health is an interplay of body, mind and energy. Even the most insignificant thought can disturb or block this flow of energy, creating imbalance or even disease. Every act of the body is invariably accompanied and strongly influenced by mental and emotional conditions, the awareness of which forms the more subtle aspect of the practice of meditation." Within a meditation class you will be guided through gentle body movements, breathing techniques and deep relaxation that can truly change your life! When you begin to objectively observe your physical, mental and emotional experience, blockages begin to dissolve, energy is freed and healing can begin to happen on all levels. Each day, as you encounter and release layers of stress, pain and unconscious resistance in the mind, you progressively accelerate the natural, internal healing processes. You will experience higher levels of emotional stability through reduced levels of anxiety, stress and even blood pressure. Increased mental clarity and energy will accompany an overall feeling of well being and begin to make subtle shifts in all aspects of your life.
